Star Wars hidden in your Mac!

To celebrate this year's Star Wars day I thought I would share one of my favourite terminal tricks with you. As a huge fan of George Lucas' cinematic masterpiece Star Wars and a bit of an Apple geek finding something that brings together my love of Sci-Fi and terminal based code is something special. So here it is. Open up a terminal window by pressing ⌘ + spacebar to bring up a finder search and tap in 'terminal' and run the app. Once the app has loaded you should be faced with a screen that looks something like the one below.

Then all you have to do is to simply type the command below, wait a few moments and then Star Wars: A New Hope will begin to play on your screen in punctuation characters.

The same also works in command prompt on Windows.

May the force be with you!
