The Future Of Web Design?

A New company is claiming they have a new way of creating great beautiful websites in just minutes. The Grid uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to create websites and only require you to tell it what you need. You give it chunks of text and some photos and it will spit out a fully coded website, designed to fit your needs.

The Grid harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to take everything you throw at it - videos, images, text, urls and more - and automatically shape them into a custom website unique to you. As your needs grow, it evolves with you, effortlessly adapting to your needs. Want to add e-commerce? Social feeds? A different layout? The Grid just takes care of it. This is not a website builder. This is your personal AI web developer.” 

The Startup was founded By Chairman and former Google AdSense Director of Products Brian Axe and CEO Dan Tocchini. They set up the company in 2010 and plan to release the first beta of their software by late spring 2015. The Grid is funding its development through crowdfunding. You can currently pay to become a founding member. This gives you a pre-paid years subscription, a reduced price of $8 after the first and access to the beta. Also included is a Limited gold edition Grid NFC Token.

Costing a hefty £60($96)/a year this can be quite a shock to the system when you don’t get anything back immediately. However saving £204/a year can be worth the risk. The grid stated that they wanted to make $70,000 to start production and with over 2300 founding members and rising its no secret that they would have passed that goal now! (2300x96=220,800)

The AI is supposed to take all your content (text, photos, videos etc.) and it arranges it all, crops photo’s, formats text, and designs it to look stylish and fit your theme. It manages Content optimisation and SEO automatically and will probably put a lot of us out of a job!

Part of its beauty is that New versions of the AI could be created and it could be improved over and over again making it smarter and smarter.

A few people are doubting The Grids “promises” and don’t believe that the AI could work. “Computers don’t have the creativity of human designers.” is a common reaction to the idea. The company have said that people will have complete access to all the data on the sites the AI makes. This will open doors for people with technical knowledge in web design and coding. This means If you don’t believe the AI can be creative, you can add your own creativity.
